My understanding is Lumeta is about understanding the intelligence part, and replicating how it works. The way humans apply it in the context of their lives is not the point. Their theory seems to be that the hierarchical knowledge model is consistent between all humans (and most mammals), and that is the breakthrough they are seeking to replicate as it represents a large step forward from existing AI theory that has not moved forward much in the last 50 years. His youtube talk explains it perfectly.

You will never be able to recreate human intelligence or the lack there of. There are other factors to conider here. Wants and desires being just two. Sure there may be a pattern that can be seen, but the reaction of an individual will change bassed on his/her wants and desires. Example: Drinking and smoking is bad for us; however, people still choose to do these things because of their desires and because they simply want to. Just because there is a pattern does not mean that there is going to be a logical or predicted outcome. That is what makes us human.
