Having small cameras like these isn't a bad thing, it all depends on how you use them. They are really fun to use; not only for surveillance or to spy on people but they can be used for recording your son's football game, your camping trip, etc. I think that people are just paranoid. If you have nothing to hide or be ashamed of, then there's nothing to worry about. www.4hiddenspycameras.com

[...] Cameras are getting smaller, and it’s a simple thing these days to set up a wireless camera to transmit images to a distant receiver. Luckily for the privacy advocate, you can buy an anti-spy camera scanner that will alert you to the presence of wireless camera signals and help you locate them. Gadget Brando is selling one for $333 that has a small TFT LCD screen (2.3in), covers a broad spectrum of frequencies (900-2700 MHz), and handles all the popular signal systems (PAL, NTSC, CCIR, EIA). It can even run for 3.5 hours on a single set of AA batteries. [...]

This is by far NOT the smallest video camera!

Here are 3 that are much smaller - they are video pens:

http://www.skymall.com/shopping/search.htm?query=video%20pen

Spy shops have even smaller ones

Maybe you should send a minute on Google before posting such claims...?

Anyway, good blog

Yes, the big brother is watching, but you can watch back :). You can already record a lot (traffic and storage are cheap). The problem is sorting it out. I think in 5 years when face recognition will go mainstream into videos - then it will be interesting. And I am here along for the ride with ugolog.com :)

Two things: Hah, this is the funniest post I've read here, especially that flickr comment. I first read the end of that as "blog" and had to pause for a second.

Two: DNA *should* be patentable, but only for a very very short window of time. And only if it's truly novel work, none of this "Took a gene from species A and inserted it into species B and now I own species B and can sue you if I think your crop got accidentally pollinated by mine."

and as far as ubiquitous cameras go, not a day goes by that I see something and wish "damn, if only my eyes were cameras I could be youtube famous for that" - well, I bet within this century my eyes WILL have cameras (or at least function closely enough to be semantically the same).
