The links to the BOINC project are broken, and a little digging has shown me that this project has been pulled, with no warning or explanation that I was able to find. (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=4006) Does anyone know what happened? I would have really liked to participate. Any chance of a follow-up interview?

[...] Create an AI on Your Computer | Singularity Hub If many hands make light work, then maybe many computers can make an artificial brain. That’s the basic reasoning behind Intelligence Realm’s Artificial Intelligence project.
I've got issues with how he responded about collaborating with other researchers because he wants to license this somehow (ie commercially) to make it sustainable. Could be as simple as needing to make his mortgage and paying the bills while working to make this AI a reality but i think a research group with enough vision would gladly provide that - its more likely he's going to get all of those CPU cycles and electricity savings from you for free and later you wont even have access either to the profits derived from your contributions nor the AI itself which he will then only sell access to. I don't think the approach he is taking is wrong but I don't know if I wouldn't prefer contributing to a similar project knowing the AI created wouldn't just be used to generate intellectual property for some private entity, and instead would be directed toward pressing issues that affect peoples lives.
