Please consider that English is not my native language.
For example, the bible where I reffered to is not not a fable off course!
But, I hope that the intellectual level of the readers from this site are able to understand my meanings.

@ Jason:
I think that that generation are the people that are above 50/60 years now. The younger generations will probably have the chance to live a lot longer than the conventional age of +/- 80 years. (Maybe even become immortal ! Immortal doesn’t means you can’t die. When you die on impact, like when hit by a truck, you’re “sustainable body” wouldn’t help you from dying.)
I’ll try to explain to you why I think this is like this.
In the next 10-15 years it should be possible to lengthen the average human lifespan by 20-30 %
So based on the added 25 percent the average lifespan will go to a 100 years instead of 80 years.
As in the most technological advantages the first step is the biggest step. So the developments will speed up ones this first step is taken . Before the people turn 100 and die, there probably will be another breakthrough. Let’s say another 30% on the 100 years makes the average lifetime a 130 years. This will be an, hopefully, ongoing process. So, there will be no limed to human lifespan anymore. Biological modifications, technological applications and a combination of these two will make this dream a close reality.

I don’t agree with your point of saying that most people these days are stuck in linear thinking.
You can’t say they are stuck, they just don’t know it yet. Ok, off course there are the people that think a 2000 year old fable is the truth…. I’m now talking about the “average man”.
To make people aware of the upcoming chances it is important to talk and write about it!
This site is a good example to create this awareness under the people.
Believing it is a choice people have to make for themselves, but also if they don’t believe it, if “it” is becoming reality they will be prepared. The process is going fast, but not so fast that it will come as a shock to humanity.

I think it is good to approach our own abilities of creation with caution.
Nature takes a slow pace, so “replicating” nature should also be done in a slow pace.
The only thing nature can compete with a lot better with then humanity can is the “trial and error” part. That is why a slow approach is a good approach.

The slogan that says “ Think about the future generations that will live on this Earth” ,can be chanced for my part to “Think about your own future on this Earth!

Considering the fact I’m only 20 years old, I hope my vision is the “correct” vision.

Please feel free to rebut the above!

Cheers,
Bram.

It is a bizarre thought to know that we are probably among the last generation of humans to lead a natural life and death. Most people are stuck in linear thinking about future events and have no idea what exponential changes are on the horizon.
