I've wondered what these devices use for a power source. How long will they work without being recharged or repowered? How will the function if removed from a power source? Will they be more or less like a conventional prosthetic?

Hello there. It was not Ossur's CEO, Jon Sigurdson, who developed the Total Knee working with his daughter. Rather, it was Finn Gramnas, working with his daughter Lisa. The Total Knee, btw, is not bionic.

Jon Sigurdsson is not the founder of Ossur, either. Nevertheless, he has taken a small company and grown it to 4-5 times its size in so many years.

Certainly one of the most important benefits of using the Power Knee is that it enables users to ascend stairs foot over foot... unprecedented.
