When I was a "wee lad", there was one classification of robot: A humanoid (wheeled or bipedal didn't matter) that did it's "master's" bidding. Now, some forty odd years later, we have industrial, commercial, household, entertainment, and toy robots. The newest category to come into play is transportation. I don't think there is ever going to be a general, personal robot that can do your bidding. You can cross-purpose an industrial bot for commercial or entertainment purposes. But that's going to be about it. Who is going to want to be entertained by a dishwasher or clothes dryer? Unless you're a wee lad? I'll be happy if there is an affordable household/toy crossbreed that will amble over to the refrigerator bot and get me a drink. I won't be around long enough to see that personal humanoid servant.
