I think the prospect of bringing this capability to a device that is in the pocket of the masses is what is interesting here.  This article (and several others on the Hub) indicate that the iphone is quickly becoming an all purpose device that can open cars, sniff chemicals, examine bacteria, deposit checks, and so much more.  It is pretty unbelievable that one device is able to do so many different things.</description>
