As you point out, its that last 1% of cases, such as twins, where the technology will probably fail right now.  For regular security situations, such as the home, I imagine this technology is fast approaching feasibility.  For high security government applications, making mistakes on twins is probably a big problem.  Although in those situations, ideally another signal such as a fingerprint is also used to bolster security</description>
