[...] Lifelogging – recording every single minute of your life – is quickly moving from science fiction fantasy to real life phenomenon. Of course to truly document every minute of your life today is still a daunting task. Although some people are already doing it, full lifelogging is time consuming, expensive, and limited in quality. But logging every single minute of your life is not the only way to lifelog. Each video, each picture, each email we create everyday is another piece of the puzzle that documents our lives. If you are like me, you are accumulating more and more of these digital pieces each year. This trend is accelerating, and within ten years or less it will be cheap and easy for most of us to record nearly every moment of our lives if we choose to do so. How much of your life will you choose to record, and how much of your life will be recorded by others?
I am ok with this if I am made aware that the area is being monitored and if as much work is being done to to speed traffic flow and cut delays as on monoriting. If you have advancements on both fronts then the insentivies to drive by the law would be doubley impacted. So that not only would I be persuaded not to speed because I am being monitored but also because I am going 100 MPH legally and doing it in a vehichle that is tough to wreck.

I was going to mention that the data wasn't hidden - I see I have been beaten to it though :)
I think youtube allows you to insert still images into the video. If you do so at the start and end of the video, you will make it harder for someone to read this stuff.

Yes, this is lame. I got caught by a red light camera too. What outraged me most was the camera began filming before I entered the intersection, but of course the camera could just as easily be turned on all the time. I tried to argue the evidence as inadmissible based on a presumption of guilt (see Minority Report). As a society do we really want automated surveillance enforcing rules of behavior? Isn't it the intent of laws to protect HUMANS, not a surveillance system, from an abridgment of their personal safety and property?

Also, I have to disagree with the assumption that privacy is something that will eventually be extinct, one could make the same argument for private property following the logic of the arguments.

Wow, Robert Grant, quadruple post? ;)

It is scary how pervasive surveillance technology is becoming. What is scarier is how it is being abused, such as in the video above. I can't see a reason why a stop sign is necessary there; a yield sign or a usually-green light should do fine.

Ubiquitous surveillance is one reason why I would never live in the U.K, although this is slowly spreading to the rest of the world...
