Earlier this week Singularity University kicked off its second annual summer Graduate Studies Program 2010 (GSP 2010) with an impressive opening ceremony. Singularity Hub posted detailed coverage of the event, including video footage of nearly the entire thing. Now Singularity University has released its own video covering the opening ceremony, an inpsiring 2 minute, 48 second mashup of the event that you won’t want to miss below.
Using accelerating technology to change the world positively for 1 billion people, to solve the world’s grand challenges – this is the driving vision behind Singularity University. When you dream big like this, there are always people out there that want to bring you down for shooting too high or for thinking too much of yourself. I’ve already seen such criticism being posted around the net – one such criticism is in the youtube comments of the video. Yet without such dreams, without the audacity to believe that we can succeed in solving the world’s greatest problems, how can we ever expect those problems to get fixed? Good luck GSP 2010 – help make the world a better place for all of us.
Disclosure: Keith Kleiner is an associate founder of Singularity University

I’m 51. So much has happened that has trickled down to the general public since the creation of the internet, it’s mind boggling. And it’s only the tip of the freaking, honking, humongous iceberg. We’ve had so many paradigm shifts that no one bothers to use the term anymore.
Godspeed, class of 2010. Rock our socks off.

I’m coming! I’m going to be sitting there one day listening – eyes and ears wide open. I will.

“The youngest one started coding at the age of 4″
Well I think that answers my question of whether or not to apply for S.U. after grad school.
But it amazes me that there is still criticism. You’d think that anyone alive now would be incapable of denying the exponential growth of technology.
