What about instead of recording with a device, wouldn't it be easier, and I think better, to be able to output the video from your brain to a screen as some such? I'm told your brain records everything you ever experience, in all 5 senses! o, when I brought a video camera to my grandmother's nursing home a couple months ago they asked me to turn it off until I go to her room

So, if this is possible, the only way for them to get me to stop recording anywhere is to blindfold me, gag me, plug my ears, nose, and (trickiest one) turn off my sense of touch. It's just amazing to think about. I already have a recording in all 5 senses (and emotions) in my head of my whole life. I'd love to be able to output the video and audio of a specific date and time.........no more regrets about not having recorded something.

Most things remind me of Accelerando. And I think it would certainly be detrimental- could you imagine losing your memories a la Alzheimer's? But in this nonbiological situation, it would be much easier to create backup copies of memories- all you'd have to do is remember where you put them ;)

This reminds me of the novel "Accelerando". Will we become disabled and lose our sense of identity if we somehow lose access to our lifestream?
