The world is advancing exponentially, and that means here at the Hub we need to cover more and more amazing breakthroughs everyday. Translation: we need more writers! If you are a talented writer with a strong technical background in science and technology then we want to talk to you. If you are not that person, but you know someone who is, then please send them over to us.
As a writer for Singularity Hub your written word will be seen by millions of readers. You will investigate the technologies and interview the people that are changing the world. You will learn a ton, you will have fun, and yes – you will even get paid!
To qualify you must have one or more degrees in computer science, engineering, physical sciences, or related field. Your technical knowledge must be superb, you must be capable of performing independent research, and your writing skills must be top notch. Full time and part time positions are available.
Are you the person we are looking for? Send your resume and other pertinent information to [email protected] to apply.

I have to agree that I have also been disappointed by this post.
The acceleration of technology is not a process that affects only engineers or scientists. To tackle the issues at hand, we cannot concern ourselves only with the technical aspects of this evolution.
The disruptive effects of this phenomenon ripple through economy, sociology, psychology, politics and so on.
The Hub deserves more than this: it’s like requesting only engineers to report on the impact of the railway in the US at the end of the XIXth century. I believe one would miss most of the matter at hand.
But as mentioned, it’s their money after all.
Lol @ elitist piffle like this. I have a Journo degree and I can confidently assert; your writing is fairly shite anyway. Lower your standards and try not to alienate people. Maybe you should be after someone with PR experience rather than technical experience. You came across as a royal tosspot in this post. As if individuals with technical degrees have sole domain over the ability to interpret scientific reports!
End of Rant.
PS. I now like you a lot less than I used to SH.
His money, so he’s free to put whatever criteria he wants on it.
It is however definitely not necessary for this blog, a general interest and wikipedia is sufficient by far, especially considering that the vast majority of the material found here is lifted from sources written to be easily understandable, if not by laymen then atleast the average tech-news reader.
A degree + excellent penmanship + excellent independet research capability, if i had that I’d expect to be bloody well paid.
This post has really annoyed me. Firstly, I somewhat doubt remuneration is available to secure the services of someone with one or more college degrees, the quip ‘you’ll even get paid!’ rather confirms this. Secondly, why narrow the field by making particular educational credentials a prerequisite? I would have hoped that on a site like this there would be some appreciation of the fact that people acquire many and diverse skills, without the straitjacket of a formal educational environment.
Lol, technical degree
If you are open to the idea of a person who has worked across multiple fields of engineering, while working on their degree, and finishing their thesis submission, then look me up…
