Ever wish you could get a sneak peek into the future — to see just how much (and how fast) our world will change? On Monday, June 20, 5:30 pm, at Mountain View’s Computer History Museum — you can.
Every year, Singularity University (SU) hosts a diverse group of 80 forward thinkers from across the globe for an intensive 10-week program to address our world’s biggest challenges by leveraging exponential technologies. Out of these 10 weeks come ideas, teams, and game plans that will shape the future. Humanity’s grand challenges are addressed head on: education, energy, environment, food, global health, prosperity, disasters, governance, security, space, and water.
This one-of-a-kind program is kicked off with an equally impressive opening ceremony. The 2016 Global Solutions Program Opening Ceremony is being held at Mountain View’s Computer History Museum, just minutes down the street from SU HQ at the NASA Ames Research Center.
This year’s keynote speaker will be NASA Deputy Administrator Dr. Dava Newman, the organization’s face and voice to the Executive Office of the President, Congress, heads of federal and other government agencies, international organizations, and external organizations and communities. Before joining NASA, Dr. Newman was professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Engineering Systems at MIT and has been a leader in innovative designs of space activity suits for better space exploration.
2016 marks the eighth cohort of the Global Solutions Program. In that time, SU has enabled driven individuals to begin building exponential technology solutions that make the impossible possible and create positive global impact.
