Alex Dryden

Alex is an economist currently pursuing a PhD in economics at SOAS University of London, focusing on sovereign defaults, currency, and bond markets. Alex previously worked for over a decade as a Global Investment Strategist for JP Morgan Asset Management covering macroeconomic development, central banks, and fixed income markets. After initially starting in London, Alex relocated to New York in 2017 and covered US bond markets for three years before returning to the UK. During his tenure Alex regularly appeared on financial news outlets, including Bloomberg and CNBC, sharing insights into the latest financial trends and market movements. Alex’s research has been frequently quoted in prestigious financial publications, such as the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal. Alex holds an MSc in finance (economic policy) from SOAS, where his dissertation focused on the factors influencing a country's ability to return to international capital markets following a sovereign default. Alex also holds a BSc in international business, finance, and economics from the University of Manchester and is also a CFA charterholder.
