Matías Mattamala

Matías is a postdoctoral researcher in the Dynamic Robot Systems Group at the University of Oxford. He received his MSc in electrical engineering from the Universidad de Chile in 2018, and his PhD in vision-based legged robot navigation from the University of Oxford in 2023. His research interests are in the foundations and systems for robot autonomy—representations, perception, action, and learning—with applications to field robotics. When not in the lab, Matias enjoys photography, traveling, reading, and searching for weird and cheap stuff in second-hand stores.
