I'm an evolutionary ecologist with a particular interest in understanding the ebb and flow of information in living systems. Our research in the Evolutionary and Sensory Ecology Lab is motivated by a desire to understand life's diversity, and we spend our time using lab and field experiments, modeling, and meta-analysis to answer questions of adaptive evolution and behavior. Invertebrates have proven a particular source of inspiration, with butterflies, spiders, and flies being longstanding favorites, though we gladly use any system useful for the questions at hand.
