Which Way Next? A New Singularity Hub Channel to (Re)Imagine the Future

Every moment is a crossroads. Every day we make countless seemingly unimportant decisions, which linked together over weeks, months and years make up the fabric of our lives. This is true from the micro perspective of one human life and the macro perspective of human society.

All the innumerable decisions made individually and collectively over time have brought us here, now. In this moment and every subsequent one, we are at yet another crossroads, facing the same question — which way next?

There is little doubt technological change is accelerating — and irreversibly changing our world. In the face of fast change, perhaps the most pressing questions are:

  • Which direction should we guide all that progress and innovation?
  • What kind of world do we actually want to create?

These questions are at the heart of Singularity Hub’s Which Way Next?, a new channel dedicated to the powerful technological and social trends poised to change our lives.

To kick off the channel, we’ll be running a month-long series on The Future of Virtual Reality, starting August 1st. Later on, we’ll cover topics like The Future of Learning, The Future of Cities, and hopefully many more. We’ll explore each topic through perspective articles from our contributors, interviews, discussions, curated reading lists, and of course, your comments and ideas.

We view these topics as emerging opportunity spaces, where a significant social or technological shift is opening opportunities for entrepreneurs around the world to create meaningful projects and businesses. By discovering our own sense of purpose, and learning to catch the wave of emerging technology trends, we can imagine the future we want to live in — and create it.

If we know where we want to go, we vastly increase our chances of getting there.

So, stay tuned. We’ll be launching The Future of Virtual Reality on August 1st as part of our new Which Way Next? channel.

We’d love to hear from you: Tweet to us @singularityhub or to me personally @svm118 with questions, suggestions, comments and ideas on the series and which topics you want us to cover next.
