Philippe Tortell

Philippe Tortell is a professor of oceanography at the University of British Columbia, and head of the Department of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences. He previously served as director of UBC's Institute for Advanced Studies, where he worked to build strong interdisciplinary collaborations across the University and beyond. He is also deeply committed to public engagement on a range of important societal issues.
